For my art project I made cubism  leaves my artist Picasso's  art work is known for cubism, symbolism and surrealism. I did cubism I tried to put different shapes in the leaves to make it look more cubed, but I also tried to make the leaves look realistic at the same time. Which turned out to be a problem because when I tried to make it look cubed and realistic it just looked messy and unorganized. I fixed this problem by letting the paint dry and then I painted over the leaves and I added more shapes to them to make it look like more like the way my artist painted but not too much like his. In my artwork I had a repeating pattern of leaves and for my background I made it where the background would go from light to dark to give it more of a movement look to it.

update for my project I decided to change my leaves up and add more cubes too the leaves to make them more small and not big and then I painted different brush strokes over that. A problem that occurred with that was that it took a long time and that it was a difficult process but it all tied up in the end. All I have to do now is make it more cleaner and more neat and then I will be finished with my Picasso painting project . One problem I encountered with my project was the time because I didn't get the whole class period to work on it. I had to leave for volleyball I managed my time by getting it done faster the period before I had to present and it worked out. I am going to make it more like something Picasso would paint by adding extra shapes by getting a black colored pencil  and adding extra leaves to my work.

art project

My class is starting to do a project based on art work of your selected artist I chose Picasso. Picasso was an artist in the early 1900's he painted a lot of cubism, symbolism and surrealism using oil pastels, but for my project I decided to use acrylic paint. For my background I made it seem like the texture looked rough/ marble the only problem I encountered with that was the long process it took. It took an hour to finish the background. (The first picture below) and for the main piece of my project I decided to make cubism leaves. ( The second picture below).
Update: A problem that also occurred was that I added extra paint on to my painting at the bottom which threw the marble look of I solved that problem by painting the same colors in and making it the same brush stroke.
Update: For my project I started to draw leaves and paint in them I decided to draw cubes inside of them a problem that occurred during this was that I couldn't make the cubes look like cubes what I did to solve this was I let the leaf dry and I painted over it after it was fully dry and I made it look more like cubism leaves. What I think I am going to do next is finish the leaves by adding more texture and more detail to make it seem like It is more realistic. I will also  paint the sides more to fill it all in  and then I will be done with my project of my cubism leaves.
